After a weekend surrounded by healthy sporty people eating flapjack by the box load I was inspired to make our own. I happily found a piece of said flapjack squirrelled in my changing bag this morning and I felt chia charged for baby group! This is my take on a healthy flapjack.
In reality no flapjack is healthy, they are filled with blocks of butter and stacks of refined sugar. This recipe contains absolutely no artificially refined sugar and instead it is filled with nutrient packed natural sugars present in honey and fruit.
One thing that is hard to avoid is butter. Butter helps soften flapjack making it far more pleasant to consume. Banana has the same effect, allowing for the butter content to be drastically reduced.
